Why now

Every year of attrition compounds.

ISA has lost roughly 1,000 members a year and watched fundraising revenue slide from about $1M to $850K, while its donor base keeps aging out. There's no external deadline forcing the decision, but every renewal season on the current system is another year of lost first-time donors and manual rework that's hard to win back.

Why change

Charity Engine already consolidated the stack. It just doesn't work the way ISA needs.

A communication-preference default cost ISA a full year of mail to 1,644 first-time donors. Memberships have been auto-billed without consent. Reporting is, in Lynn's words, "a rabbit hole," and the weekly fulfillment report for renewals and appeals is still built by hand. ISA lost its dedicated CRM support when it migrated off its original Innovare/Fundly-managed system, and hasn't had a real de-duplication or segmentation partner since.
